Individual instruction available: Claire Herne has taught knitting in the DC area for more than 15 years. She also designs and sells her own knitwear. She brings her creativity, love of teaching and expertise to Yarns International as the knitting instructor. Claire is available for private or group lessons. All levels and techniques.  $40 per 60 minutes. By appointment.  Contact Yarns International to schedule a session.

FAIR ISLE WORKSHOP

We are happy to announce a new Fair Isle workshop taught by Nancy Borkovec.  Nancy is a skilled knitter and a preeminent teacher of Fair Isle technique.  This workshop is not to be missed!  You will learn everything you need to know to knit a Fair Isle sweater.  The two-day event will take you step-by-step through the process, and you will knit a tiny Fair Isle vest by the end.  The first day covers corrugated ribbing, setting steeks, shaping, and following charted Fair Isle patterns.  The second day leads you through cutting steeks, buttonholes, and finishing. 

Fee:  $150, which includes materials.  Lunch is provided.  Please bring 16-inch circular needles in US sizes 3 and 4.

Registration deadline is October 23.  No refunds will be issued unless a substitute can be found to take your place.  Minimum of 6 students, maximum of 16.
