This series of six new designs, Elements, recalls and celebrates our planetary elements, Earth, Air, Fire, and Water, and their universe ancestors, Wind and Light.

The earliest human societies involved rituals for favor and protection using observable things at hand: animals, nature and, frequently, the elements. Rites took shape to mark seminal passages of life, hunting and gathering; gods and goddesses were created to provide blessings beyond human capacity. And later, structures of stone and wood appeared to mark the importance of the rite or the place.

For each of these new designs, I have put myself in a conceptual place of experiencing an element for the first time, much like a child. In this pullover, a maze symbolizes the omni-directional winds that can transport seeds, move clouds and bring together the stuff of comets and stars.
